A great number of people work hard to bring you each issue of The Victoria Standard.
Take a moment to learn a little bit about our team.
Andrew is also President of The Victoria Standard's parent company, Bellwether Media Inc. After years of collecting skills and life lessons and experience in film, photography, graphic design, cultural anthropology and writing, you might say taking on publication of Victoria County’s newspaper was ‘meant to be.’
Born in Truro, Nova Scotia, Andrew has spent the last twenty years exploring Toronto, New York, Pittsburgh and more while learning new perspectives on media, people and the environment.
In 2015, Andrew moved to Baddeck with his wife Carolyn and eight-year-old son, Amon. He is thrilled to be living the good life in Cape Breton and takes the responsibility of news gathering and publishing seriously.
John is also the Director of Operations for Bellwether Media Inc. Having been with The Victoria Standard since its inception in 1993, John Johnson brings a great deal of experience to the second incarnation of the paper. His expertise in community newspaper production is unparalleled in the region. His experience with The Victoria Standard has involved almost every aspect of the business - from customer service to digital layout & production. And from subscription management to office management.
The primary point person when walking into our office, John knows most of our subscribers and customers by name and enjoys the one-on-one contact with many of them.
